It is June, the beginning of summertine and it is hot. the water temperature at McGee Creek is 84 in the morning and 90 in the evenings. The water clarity on the lake is stained clear all over the lake. With differenet colors of water. The is still a lot of bass up in shallow water in the mornings. In 2 to 10 foot of water, I am catching most of these bass early on top water lures like the popr, zara spook. and the Hart Tackile Buzz bait. Once the sun comes up I switch over to a Lucky Strike jogger worm or the Gene Larew skip jack minnow. I am also catching bass on the Bass Magic swimbait. And the Gene Larew Hoo Daddy Jr. Usually during the mid day I catch more bass out in the main lake on deep water humps and points on a drop shot or shakey head. With both of these techniques I am using the Gene Larew shakey head worm. In certian locations I am also catching trophy bass on the Gene Larew el salto worm. As the temperatures continue to get hotter. So will the bass fishing. But in June and July I do a lot of bass fishing at Lake Fork in Texas. Hot weather there makes the trophy bass fishing excellent. My clients and I average 15 to 30 trophy bass a day;. from 4 lbs and up. Which most of these bass being in the3 6 to 9 lb range. As the weather continues to get hotter and hotter my clients and I will catch more and bigger bass every day. So if you are looking to catch the trophy bass of a lifetime and you don't want to have to go to Mexico to do it. Come and go catch your trophy bass with me. Most of my bass fishing at Lake fork in the summertime is off shore using various different techniques such as jig fishing, huge plastic worm fishing, big swimbait fishing, big spoon fishing and carolina rigging. Big baits = trophy bass.
