Fishing Report

January 14, 2012

The lake level at McGee Creek is 2ft above normal and is falling. The water clarity is less than 1ft up in McGee creek to about 3 feet out in the main lake. The water temp. is 48 to 50 degrees out in the main lake.

I am still catching big numbers of bass out in 20 - 30 ft of water out in main lake, most of these bass are being caught on a Gene Larew 5 inch worm on a drop shot, I am also catching them on the new Hart Tackle shake & rattle worm on a shakey head, I am also catching alot of bass on a flutter spoon. The trophy bass are starting to move up into shallow water in the evenings as you can see .

I caught & released this 11lb 12oz beauty (shown below) on 1-31-12 . We have caught several nice bass since then, most of these weighing over 5lbs and we have had 7 monster bass on that I think would have weighed over 10lbs. All of the bass over 8lbs that we have caught have all been caught on my Justice Jig with my rattlin chunk trailor made by Hart Tackle. We are also catching some really nice bass on a Hart Tackle spinner. Also, some of my friends have been catching bass on crankbaits.

So if you are looking to catch numbers of trophy bass, now is the time to go.
